The Ogoki Story
By Paul Boucher
The time was July 1991. Canada was mired in a deep recession and was facing death by deficit. Judy and I had been in the marine retail industry going on 20 years and we were more than ready for a career change in our lives. And thus was born the Ogoki Frontier with six outpost camps and a mere handful of customers, some of which are still with us to this day.
In 1994 we developed the land on which 'our present base sits, (oh how I wish I had that energy again), and the rest is, as they say, history.
In the beginning thee were two of us working the business. You may recall Rudy as the congenial host who worked the dock for the first three years. When Rudy moved on to new challenges, Judy and the kids (Danielle, David and Nicole) all became active in the business with David taking on a full time piloting position servicing the camps and providing friendly customer service.
2011 will be our 20th year in the remote Tourism business. Judy, David, Nicole and I salute all of our wonderful customers with a Photo Contest to celebrate our near 20 years. We have several categories, nice prizes and we urge you to join us with a fond look at the past. See some of the submitted photos in our gallery
Welcome to the Ogoki Frontier.
